Futbol Alaska
Mission Statement
VISION
To provide world-class youth soccer programs that enrich children's lives.
MISSION
To develop and deliver quality youth soccer programs which promote a fun, competitive, and family environment based on the USSF Soccer Curriculum and in line with the growth of soccer in the United States.
CLUB PHILOSOPHY
To make the benefits of a quality soccer program combining fun and training experiences available to all interested youth,
especially those whose families cannot afford the sometimes high cost to play in competitive programs. We strive to provide a quality club and experience for all levels of
soccer players.
INTRODUCTION
Futbol Alaska Soccer Club was formed in January 2013 by combining two local Anchorage soccer clubs, Northern Lights Soccer Club and Full Force
Soccer Club.
Both clubs have established a strong record against other competitive soccer clubs from Anchorage, Chugiak, the Mat-Su Valley, Fairbanks,
Kenai and Juneau. In both club's short histories, several teams have won Alaska State Cup Tournament Championships as well as championships in many other local tournaments and
competitive league season championships.
The greatest achievement for both clubs, however, has been their ability to provide positive experiences for the young players in the clubs.
The success is due to the hard work and dedication of many volunteer coaches, assistant coaches, team managers, and team parents.
The Northern Lights Soccer Club (NLSC) was formed in 1994 by a group of Anchorage families that wanted a youth soccer program focused on
quality coaching and a positive approach to working with girls and boys. The club grew beyond what the founding families ever imagined, expanding from two competitive teams in
1994 to 15 teams in 1999.
Full Force Soccer Club (FFSC) was established in 2005 to provide the youth of Anchorage and surrounding communities the
opportunity to learn and play the beautiful game in a safe and enjoyable environment and to provide the youth population a healthy environment to learn important life lessons.
Through top quality coaching and mentoring FFSC became very successful in a short amount of time and a force to be reckoned with throughout the state of Alaska and at
tournaments all over the USA. In 2005 Full Force started exclusively as a boys club with 4 teams and by 2007 expanded to having a girls program with a total of 10 teams, 6
boys teams and 4 girls teams.
PROGRAMS
Each program is designed to provide a better understanding of the game's overall tactics in a safe and fun environment for every
type of player.
Youth Soccer Academy - Ages 6-11
Futbol Alaska Youth Soccer Academy has a full winter indoor soccer development program. The program runs in three eight week
sessions, one in fall, winter, and spring. The academy is open to players of all skill and interest levels. The players will receive professional coaching and skill
development from Futbol Alaska coaches. The academy enables our young people to develop and reinforce their health, skills, fun, sportsmanship, and friendships.
Recreational League and Teams
Futbol Alaska Recreational Leagues are made up of developmental teams, which are composed of players not selected by a tryout
process. Emphasis is on participation by all players and small-sided games for younger players. Coaches will provide players with opportunities to learn about, play, and most
importantly, enjoy the game of soccer. This program is designed to encourage and foster growth in young players by introducing basic soccer skills needed to both begin and
advance in the game. Except for special circumstances, such as disciplinary matters or illness, each member of a team plays at least 50% of each game.
Competitive - U11-U19
Futbol Alaska Competitive leagues are composed of advanced teams participating at higher levels of competition. Our goal is to
create a program for each player that will allow him to reach his full potential, whatever that may be. For the majority of our players college soccer will be the pinnacle of
their careers, but a select few will have the ability to play beyond that level and Futbol AK. Our programming and curriculum over the term of a youth soccer career has and
will provide each and every player the skills to match their aspirations.
